Interventional Radiology Technologist
Job DescriptionThis is a 13-week contract position. The Interventional Radiology Technologist will demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently producing radiologic images of diagnostic quality. This role requires working cooperatively with all department members to resolve problems expediently, displaying flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, and accountability when dealing with customers. The technologist must also demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity for patient rights in all patient interfaces.
Responsibilities- Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist the Radiologist during procedures.
- Demonstrate competence and proficiency in the operation of all equipment and report malfunctions to the manager or lead.
- Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner and utilize time between procedures to assist others and help with room turnover.
- Maintain medication security to authorized personnel only.
- Provide healthcare services competently to all age groups.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with all age groups.
- Participate in hospital performance improvement activities when warranted.
- Demonstrate confidentiality using personal passwords and all patient care modules.
- Answer telephone inquiries of a technical nature from physicians or hospital personnel while maintaining good phone etiquette.
- Two (2) years of experience in a relevant position.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (only).
- New York State License (or able to obtain prior to start).
- VIR certification is preferred.
The position requires 5x8 hour days with on-call, callback, and holiday duties as per unit needs.
