Job Details:
• Work in a Med-Surg Cardiac Medical Unit with 23 beds plus 1 treatment room
• Patient ratios: Days/Evenings 1:4, Nights 1:5
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Float to similar units as needed
• Must have ACLS certification required
• Must have cardiac telemetry knowledge and experience
• Must have knowledge/skill set for cardiac medical and procedural patients (caths) and cardiac drips
• Strong medical-surgical knowledge/background with telemetry preferred
• Use telemetry monitoring with some hard-wired rooms, vein finder for IV therapy, portable pulse oximetry, continuous oximetry
• Operate manual/automatic vital sign machines, blood glucose monitors, mechanical lifts, and dopplers
• Work with EMR system Allscripts with medication scanning capabilities and soft-lab
• Care for hemodynamically stable MI patients, acute/chronic heart failure, new onset atrial fibrillation with or without RVR
• Manage procedural patients including cardiac catheterizations (radial or femoral), ablations, cardioversions, ICD, pacers
• Administer cardiac drips including amiodarone, diltiazem, renal dose dopamine, dobutamine, milrinone, Lasix up to 40mg, insulin drips
• Care for ICU transfers, neuro patients (CVA), pulmonary patients requiring BiPAP, Hi-flow and Salter
• Hospital scrubs required for dress code
• Must be engaging, team-oriented, flexible/adaptable, and patient-centered
