Anesthesiology Physician providing anesthesia care in a community hospital, managing a diverse range of surgical and emergency cases with a focus on teamwork and communication. Responsible for perioperative anesthesia management across multiple specialties including general surgery, urology, ENT, vascular, OB/GYN, orthopedics, and more. Works closely with surgeons, nurses, CRNAs, and anesthesia techs to ensure patient safety and effective anesthesia delivery.
We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Anesthesiologist to join a high-functioning, friendly team in a community-based hospital setting. This role offers a diverse and rewarding case mix, with an emphasis on teamwork, strong clinical skillsets, and open communication across departments.
Position Highlights:Schedule:
Elective cases run Monday Friday, starting at 7:30 AM
No elective cases are scheduled past 5 PM, with most wrapping up by 3 PM
On-call rotation: 7 8 days per month including 1 weekend per month
Call coverage is 24 hours; weekday call shift is ideally 12 PM 8 PM, but may start earlier if needed
Post-call day off (including Mondays after weekend call)
On-Call Response Time:
Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes for emergent cases

General Surgery (including robotics)
Urology (including robotics)
ENT (including pediatric ENT)
Vascular & Thoracic (including robotics)
OB/GYN (includes epidurals and C-sections)
Orthopedics (no spine)
Podiatry
Endoscopy (gastroscopies and colonoscopies)
ECTs
Out-of-OR cases: Cath Lab, EP Lab, MRI, CyberKnife, Interventional Radiology
Emergency assistance: occasional intubations in the ED or inpatient units
Excluded Cases:
Spine
Plastic Surgery
Neurosurgery
Open Heart
Average of 11 OR cases per day (excluding endoscopy and out-of-OR)
anesthesia cases per month (including all types)
3,081 total anesthesia cases in the last fiscal year
CRNAs work independently under MD supervision (not medical direction)
Anesthesiologists may oversee the OR board but may also be hands-on when needed (e.g., emergencies)
Anesthesia techs assist with OR turnover
Strong nurse relationships across pre-admit, intraop, PACU, and endoscopy
Team-oriented, approachable, and great communicator
Able to collaborate well with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia colleagues
Skilled in regional anesthesia, invasive line placements (A-lines, central lines)
Confident in handling thoracic cases
