The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that aggregate and asphalt products meet all plant, customer, industry, and government quality standards. This role oversees quality control processes, lab certifications, safety protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives for production. The manager also coordinates with sales and operations teams to uphold quality specifications and resolve any customer concerns.

Certifies final products prior to shipment to customers. Establishes laboratory practices and ensures that they are performed accurately and precisely in accordance with established standards.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quality Manager's primary objective is to ensure that all aggregate and asphalt produced meet plant, customer, industry, and government requirements. Certifies final products prior to shipment to customers. Establishes laboratory practices and ensures that they are performed accurately and precisely in accordance with established standards.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Responsible for leading and ensuring the safe operations of all aspects of the quality process, including plant and lab safety and the safety of all department and plant employees.
- Responsible and accountable for meeting internal and customer specifications, as well as documenting and certifying that aggregate and asphalt shipped meet applicable requirements.
- Contribute to the production and supply of aggregate and asphalt within the specified quality parameters while meeting the cost objectives of the Quality department and the plant as a whole.
- As designated management representative, holds responsibility and authority for operating, maintaining, and implementing the requirements of the Corporate and Plant Quality Manuals, which must comply with the Corporate Quality Management Program.
- Ensure the completion and communication of required testing from all stages of production.
- Responsible for staffing laboratory personnel and ensuring proper training of any personnel that will be involved in sampling and testing.
- Ensure the accuracy of all equipment used in the quality control and assurance functions.
- Ensure that Quality Department areas are operated safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Coordinate with other plant departments for continuous improvement in procedures, materials, testing schedules, and equipment.
- Coordinate with the sales representatives for continuous improvements in products, or work on developing new product lines.
- Coordinate with sales and operations to ensure state-inspected piles are built with the proper volume and specifications.
- Formulate plant-specific quality policies and strategies.
- Design raw mixes based on available and usable raw materials.
- Plan and execute daily QA/QC activities.
- Identify and record quality issues and initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformance in the product and Quality Management System.
- Control further processing/delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Maintain effective relations with customer services, sales, and plant personnel.
- Properly resolve and investigate customer concerns and complaints.
- Obtain QC/QA and PEM certifications.
- Create QC plan to be submitted to NYSDOT

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
