Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Retail Pharmacist to join a community-focused healthcare facility in California. The pharmacist will be responsible for providing safe and effective medication services, ensuring accurate dispensing, counseling patients, maintaining pharmacy operations, and supporting high-quality patient care in a retail pharmacy setting.
The ideal candidate should be patient-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining strong collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense and compound prescribed medications accurately
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Provide patient counseling on drug usage, dosage, interactions, and side effects
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns
- Maintain inventory, records, and pharmacy files
- Ensure proper storage, procurement, and distribution of medications
- Maintain quality assurance and controlled substance security
- Resolve third-party prescription issues and insurance rejections
- Report medication errors and maintain safety standards
- Build strong relationships with physicians and healthcare staff
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations
- Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct
- Participate in continuing education and training programs
