Locum Tenens Trauma Surgeon Opportunity Near Woodbury, CT We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trauma Surgeon for a locum tenens position near Woodbury, CT. This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated physician looking to provide crucial coverage in a fast-paced environment. The assignment begins ASAP and is ongoing until a permanent surgeon is hired. Key Details: Specialty: Trauma Surgery Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Location: Near Woodbury, CT Practice Setting: Hospital-Based, Level 1 Trauma Center Schedule: Weekday Shifts: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Weeknight On-Call: Three nights per week, 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM Weekend On-Call: Two 24-hour shifts (Saturday/Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM) Responsibilities: Trauma Cases: Handle a variety of trauma cases, including adult, geriatric, penetrating, and blunt trauma. Laparoscopic Procedures: Perform laparoscopic appendectomies and cholecystectomies. Chest Tube Insertions: Required as part of trauma care. Team Collaboration: Work with a full complement of OR staff in a high-volume hospital setting. Patient Demographics: Primarily adult and geriatric patients, with occasional cases involving children and adolescents. Requirements: Board Certification: Must be Board Certified in Trauma Surgery. Licensure: Active Connecticut state medical license. Certifications: ACLS (AHA), DEA. Experience: Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center is preferred.
