Ensures accurate image identification and complete documentation, including patient charts, consents, orders, and screening forms. Determines the appropriate body part to be imaged and positions patients correctly to obtain optimal images. Follows established departmental protocols and hospital policies for all procedures. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Performs routine equipment cleaning and operational checks to ensure proper function. Operates and adjusts department-specific imaging equipment to perform examinations. Uses proper positioning, collimation, and patient shielding for radiologic exams. Processes and transmits images to the PACS system, producing high-quality diagnostic images. Applies ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff. Utilizes the Hospital Information System (HIS) to verify orders, obtain patient information, complete charges, and process studies. Adheres to safety standards and best practices to deliver high-quality imaging and patient care.
