Work in Labor & Delivery at Bridgeport Hospital with on-site training and certification support. Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) — Full-time shift-based role in Labor & Delivery, Bridgeport, CT. Permanent staff position at Yale New Haven Health; on-the-job structured training available. - Graduate of CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology or LCCST-defined program or completion of Bridgeport Hospital OJT program
- Certified Surgical Technologist or obtain certification within 1 year of hire
- Successful completion of MCH/OR training (≥85% exam score)
- Ability to perform sterile technique and assist RN in L&D patient care
- Able to meet physical demands (standing, lifting up to 25 lbs)

- 1. Performs the duties of a scrub person.
- 1.1 Performs technical skills proficiently during procedures while demonstrating knowledge of sterile technique by adhering to principles of asepsis 100% of the time.
- 2. Performs selected patient care activities in Labor & Delivery under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- 2.1 Identifies changes in patients' condition and communicates significant observations to the RN as evidenced by report.
- 3. Demonstrates accountability and responsibility in daily performance of role.
- 3.1 Assumes responsibility for delegated activities 100% of the time as observed by supervisor.
