Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour rotating shifts, primarily days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) for 2 months, then nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) for 1 month
• Weekend requirements: 4 weekend shifts per schedule for days (Saturdays and Sundays), up to 5 weekend shifts per schedule for nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Holiday coverage required if contract period includes holidays
• Patient ratios vary from 1:1, 1:2, to 1:3 depending on ICU or step-down patients
• May float within scope to meet facility needs
• Guaranteed hours with facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• 2 years of PICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS (American Heart Association only)
• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Care for pediatric patients ages 0-18 with medical and surgical diagnoses including respiratory compromise, trauma, post-operative patients, and neurology/neurosurgery cases
• Work with complex supportive therapies including ECMO/CRRT, renal or peritoneal dialysis
• All RTO must be submitted at time of submission
• During hurricane season (June-November), may be assigned to emergency response teams

This Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital operates as a Magnet-designated facility with 820 staffed beds. The 28-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provides intensive and intermediate care to children from across South Carolina, offering a comprehensive range of services including ventilatory and cardiac support, ECMO/CRRT, dialysis, and complex supportive therapies. The facility maintains interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams, with pediatric palliative care available as needed.
