ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Marion, Illinois 62959 (Southern Illinois travel nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Healthcare Setting: 18-bed ICU/Stepdown Unit
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 upon request)
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
• Scrubs: Navy Blue
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1950 - $2090

ICU RN Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (RN)
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (3 years preferred)
• At least 1 prior travel nurse assignment required
• Proficient in neuro assessment, NIHSS/dysphagia screening, Tele/EKG interpretation (exam required on first day)
• Experience with ETT/ventilator management, sedative and paralytic drips, cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, insulin, sepsis protocols, and post-ROSC therapeutic hypothermia
• Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and resilience
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Preferred: tPa administration/assessment, massive transfusion (Belmont)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to ICU and stepdown patients (ICU ratio 2:1, Stepdown 3:1)
• Conduct comprehensive neuro assessments and dysphagia screenings
• Interpret Tele/EKG results and manage ventilated patients
• Initiate and titrate critical care medications and drips
• Implement sepsis and post-cardiac arrest protocols
• Float to stepdown unit as needed to support patient care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to manage increased patient volume
• Participate in every other weekend and holiday rotation
