The Physician Assistant is an integral member of the medical team, responsible for providing high-quality medical services to patients while adhering to state licensing guidelines. This role encompasses comprehensive medical management across all levels of care offered by the clinic and involves working under the supervision of a physician to deliver patient-centered care. Responsibilities include conducting thorough physical examinations, diagnosing conditions, and formulating treatment plans. The Physician Assistant also provides patient education, coordinates referrals, and ensures appropriate follow-up care to support treatment continuity. Additionally, they may prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and licensure requirements. Responsibilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Makes a comprehensive physical assessment of patients consistent with training and education;
- Performs physical examinations on patients admitted for medication maintenance;
- Ensures physician medication orders are being followed. Refers patients to appropriate physicians and consults with the supervising physician;
- Evaluates patient care, adjusting the plan of care based on outcomes, diagnostic test results, and patient feedback;
- Provides patient and staff education on medication maintenance;
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF Standards, and clinic policy and procedure;
- Maintains and expands knowledge base in accordance with the requirements necessary to maintain professional certification as a Physician Assistant; and,
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Role Location: WI
Calculated Salary Range for role : $85 - $92 per hour.
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Graduate of Physician Assistant program from an accredited college or university
- Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities, is preferred.
- Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
- No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment
- Board certified Physician Assistant (PA)
- Licensed to practice in the state of WI
- Active DEA license
