• Location: Charleston, WV 25304
• Unit: 5 South – Medical Surgical/Oncology (29 beds)
• Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 3 shifts/week
• Hours: 36 hours/week guaranteed
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (options for 36 or 48-hour contracts)
• Start Date: January 22, 2026
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Benefits: Free parking for travel nurses

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (Medical Surgical or Oncology nursing preferred)
• Active West Virginia or Compact RN License (pending license accepted)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR charting preferred
• Ability to float to similar healthcare units as needed
• Two manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions accepted)
• Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (75-99 miles considered case-by-case)

RN Responsibilities – Medical Surgical/Oncology

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical, surgical, oncology, urology, and telemetry patients
• Administer chemotherapy (preferred), blood products, and manage ports and central lines
• Perform central line draws, assist with bone marrow aspirations, and manage Pleurx chest tubes
• Monitor and operate PCA pumps, feeding pumps, bladder scanners, and other clinical equipment
• Educate patients and families on oncology processes, palliative care, and treatment plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including IV teams and support staff
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner electronic medical records
• Float to similar medical-surgical or oncology units as needed
