This role involves developing dashboards, automating reporting, ensuring data governance, and collaborating with senior leadership and technology teams. The position requires extensive experience in finance, analytics, financial modeling, and team leadership within financial services.
Summary
The Finance Director, Business Intelligence reports to the CFO and leads the organization’s finance data strategy, analytics, and reporting. This role transforms complex, fragmented financial data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a visionary and execution-focused leader with expertise in financial analysis, data systems, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership to deliver financial insights and data-driven recommendations.
- Develop executive and operational dashboards to unify and clean disparate data sources.
- Create scalable, repeatable analytics processes and automated reporting.
- Collaborate with business units to ensure data consistency, governance, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Partner with Technology to align financial data architecture with business requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals to foster collaboration and high performance.
- Identify and implement solutions for large-scale data reporting challenges.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Basic Requirements:
- 8+ years in FP&A, finance, or business analysis.
- 3+ years of staff management experience.
- Experience in financial services (wealth management, investment, broker-dealer, or insurance).
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with SQL Server, Snowflake, Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of financial statements, corporate finance, and accounting principles.
- Experience with large datasets and financial reporting systems.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- CPA, CFA, or CMA certification.
- FINRA licenses.
- Experience with Python or other programming tools.
