A healthcare facility in Dixon, IL seeks a board-certified Obstetrics & Gynecology physician for urgent locum coverage from December 22-27, providing 24-hour call coverage including ER consultations and deliveries. The physician will work as part of a team with midwives and advanced practice nurses, managing an average of 20-30 deliveries monthly in a Level 2 OB unit without a NICU. Required qualifications include an active Illinois medical license, relevant certifications, and a minimum of one year of experience.

- Urgent Need: We have an urgent need for coverage from December 22 at 7 a.m. to December 27 at 7 a.m.
- Team-Based Care: You'll be part of a team that includes one other MD, two midwives, and an APN. You will not work solo.
- Call Coverage: You will provide 24-hour call coverage from 8 a.m. to 8 a.m. All call is "call back," meaning you're only required to come in if a patient needs to be seen or managed. Some days will include clinic hours within the 24-hour shift.
- Balanced Caseload: The facility has a low volume of 20-30 deliveries per month. They are a Level 2 OB unit with no NICU. You'll be responsible for covering the OB unit and handling ER consultations for any OB/GYN-related cases.
- EMR System: The facility uses Cerner for all charting.
- Quick Privileging: The estimated time to secure temporary privileges is 90 days.
- Provide 24-hour call coverage for the OB unit and consultations in the ER.
- Respond to patient needs and manage deliveries as required.
- Handle an average of 0 admissions while on call.
- Collaborate with midwives and APNs to ensure patient care continuity.
- Note: Circumcisions are not required, as they are handled by other providers.
- Education: MD or DO.
- Board Status: Board Certified.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Licensure: An active Illinois State License is required to apply. We are not able to consider candidates with an IMLC.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, DEA, and CSR licenses are required.
- The target start date is December 22, 2025.
