Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery assesses patients' clinical conditions, recognizes and interprets serious situations, and takes appropriate action. Responsibilities include formulating nursing diagnoses, developing individualized care plans, and initiating emergency measures when necessary. You will operate emergency care equipment, administer prescribed therapeutic measures, and evaluate patient progress towards expected outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients across the life span and devise appropriate nursing care.
• Develop, document, and implement individualized care plans.
• Respond to emergencies by taking immediate actions as necessary.
• Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders.
• Educate patients and families on care and health promotion.
• Record nursing interventions and patient responses accurately.
• Oversee care provided by licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel.
• Ensure the upkeep of unit supplies, equipment, and safe environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in nursing
• Current NY RN License
• Certifications: BLS, NRP
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role
