PS Companies is seeking an experienced Pediatric Med Surg RN for an opening based in Milwaukee, WI. This is a full time 13 week travel contract position.
Float Requirements: yes, travelers will be the first to float to another Patient Care Unit if there is a need to float.
Unit summary: All acute care burn patients requiring dressing changes, surgical interventions and management are cared for here. Shorter stay and Observation patients are the other focus for this unit.
Typical diagnoses for the Pediatric Hospital Medicine patients are: asthma, bronchiolitis, dehydration/viral gastroenteritis, skin and soft tissue infection/cellulitis, unintentional toxic ingestion, and croup.
Nurses may also care for medical patients with varying diagnoses who are expected to have a shorter hospital stay. The shorter-stay surgical specialties in this department are: General Surgery, Ortho, ENT, Urology, Plastics/Craniofacial, Ophthalmology, and Dental. Some common diagnosis are: tonsillectomy & Adenoidectomy, appendicitis, extremity fractures, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and umbilical or inguinal hernia.
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
WI or Compact RN License
2 years Pediatric inpatient hospital experience
Level I Trauma experience
Epic experience
BLS (AHA) Certification
Ability to clear a drug screen/background check.
