The Occupational Therapist ICU provides specialized occupational therapy care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit, focusing on improving their functional independence. They perform evaluations, treatments, and manage care for patients with complex conditions such as LVAD, IABP, ECMO, and heart transplants. This role requires licensure, relevant education, and familiarity with advanced therapy techniques while supervising assistants and trainees.

Required Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 8am-4:30pm
Responsibilities: Provides occupational therapy specialized care services for patients admitted in the ICU assisting them to reach highest level of functional independence. Patient population including but not limited to: LVAD, IABP, ECMO, and Heart Transplant. Conducts occupational therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments. Specialized in care for complex patient types through advanced training and education. Responsible for the care of patients treated by certified occupational therapist assistants, rehabilitation technicians, students, and observers. Qualifications:Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy Required
- Bachelor’s degree Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program with a BS, MS, or OTD. Must maintain current CEU’s as by the State Required
Work Experience
- No experience required Required
- 2 years Experience with research and analysis of data . Must be able to evaluate data and make independent decisions. of previous healthcare experience as an Occupational Therapist Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Current Occupational Therapist licensure in the State of Georgia. BLS through AHA Required
