We are currently working to assist a client in Decatur, Alabama with a short-term need in December. The dates are December 15-22, and this particular location will be using additional coverage in 2023. There is an opportunity for ongoing part-time coverage/work for the right candidate. If you or someone you know might be interested, I would love to speak to you. Here is some information about the practice:

• 30-35 cases per day. Number of blocks per day are approximately 75.
• Types of cases: GI biopsies, GYN biopsies, skin biopsies, prostate biopsies, bladder biopsies, breast biopsies, lung biopsies (for tumor), appendix, tonsils, gallbladders, hernias, mastectomies, colon resections among other general AP cases. There is no neuropathology or transplant pathology.
• There are 2 histotechs and one cytotech. There is no PA, so locums will gross each day.
• Locums should be comfortable cutting their own frozens.
• There is a small number of GYN cytologies, so someone with Pap PT is preferable but not required. Cases may be left until the client returns if necessary.
• There is also an occasional autopsy which is done at the morgue. A diener is available to assist
• Call is required but getting called is rare.

Again, although our primary thrust right now is to assist with vacation coverage, this could also be an opportunity for someone interested in working a couple of days per week moving forward. Please let me know if you might be available. I look forward to hearing from you!
