Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a ND or compact license and two years of recent cardiac cath lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cardiac cath lab within an acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital
• Patient population includes cardiac interventions, device implants, peripheral vascular, structural heart, STEMI, and stroke cases
• Unit consists of 7 cath labs with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio during cases
• Utilization of EPIC (One Chart), CUPID, GE MAC LAB, EKOS, balloon pumps, IMPELLA, Angiovac, FFR, and IVUS equipment
• Day shift schedule with 8 or 10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm
• On-call required every 2-3 weekends and one night per week as part of a 4-person call team plus MD
• No floating to other units
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures in the cath lab
• Administer conscious sedation and complete nursing assessments for a variety of procedures
• Function as part of an on-call team, occasionally as the sole RN on call alongside an MD
• First time travelers will be considered
• Scrub color is provided as ceil blue
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Former employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to start

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years recent cath lab experience
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• Experience in a large hospital, Level 2 or higher trauma setting required
• Experience with administering conscious sedation
• Preferred experience in ICU or ED settings
• Charting experience with EPIC EMR is required
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
