The Surgical Tech works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to prepare and assist during surgical procedures, ensuring safe and effective care. Responsibilities include selecting and preparing surgical supplies and equipment, scrubbing in, managing instrumentation, and participating in surgical counts. Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting along with BLS certification is required, with preference for candidates having one year of experience.

Position Summary:
The Operating Room Surgical Technologists work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse circulator to facilitate safe and effective care. Functions in a professional manner on a wide variety of surgical procedures. Selects and prepares the appropriate supplies and equipment for the surgical cases. Scrubs on surgical cases, operates surgical equipment, participates in surgery by organizing the instrumentation, participating in surgical counts, and performs related activities under the direction of the Registered nurse circulator and surgeon.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: :
Required: Graduate of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: :
One year experience working as a certified surgical technologist preferred.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), BLS required
