Job Opportunity: Locum Physician in Gastroenterology
Join a dedicated team providing exceptional care at a leading medical center in Midlothian, Virginia. This facility offers a collaborative environment, comprehensive services, and on-site lab and X-ray capabilities. We are currently seeking locum coverage for Gastroenterology to support hospital call on weekends, fulfilling an important role in the community.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide locum coverage for Gastroenterology, including weekend hospital call.
- Conduct outpatient consultations and evaluations for adult patients.
- Perform required procedures including:
- Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry
- Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy
- Colonoscopy and Sigmoidoscopy
- Liver Biopsy and Small Bowel Biopsy
- Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
- Manage patient care and maintain high standards of clinical practice.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology - REQUIRED
- Current Virginia medical license - REQUIRED
- COVID vaccine status is highly preferred
- Clean malpractice history for temporary privileges - REQUIRED
- Experience with ERCP - REQUIRED
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) experience is preferred
- Must be available to cover open shifts - REQUIRED
License and Certification Requirements:
- Virginia medical license - REQUIRED
- Flu shot - REQUIRED
- Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation - REQUIRED
- 2.6M malpractice coverage as per Virginia regulations - REQUIRED
