The Point of Care Coordinator at Mercy Hospital Springfield manages point of care testing technology and coordinates related laboratory activities under supervision. The role requires a bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related science, ASCP certification, and preferably five years of laboratory experience. The position supports healthcare delivery by ensuring accurate and efficient point of care diagnostics aligned with Mercy's mission and values.
Reports directly to the POC Lab Supervisor and ultimately to the Executive Director of Laboratory Services for Mercy Hospital Springfield. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science or chemical, physical or biological science.
- Certifications: Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP or equivalent. Persons acquiring initial Certification after January 1, 2004, must maintain certification status as required by ASCP.
- Other: Must be comfortable with point of care technology.
- Preferred Experience: Prefer at least 5 years working in the laboratory
