Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 3 shifts per week schedule
• Every other weekend coverage required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week period)
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float required within skillset
• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Compact license or Maryland license required
• Care for patients of all age groups including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Handle large orthopedic program including total joints, colorectal surgeries, vascular procedures, and bariatric surgery
• Manage patients with diabetes, CHF, infections, sepsis, COPD, general surgery cases, sickle cell crisis, GI bleeds, and diverticulitis
• Work with specialized equipment including patient lifts, PCA pumps, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, and capnography
• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, central line care, chest tube management, wound care, tracheostomy care, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• One pre-approved time off period allowed
• Two supervisor references required

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive medical-surgical telemetry unit with 44 beds and serves a daily census of 32 patients. The facility features a large orthopedic program and handles various surgical specialties including colorectal, vascular, and bariatric procedures. The unit provides interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services. While the unit accommodates pediatric patients, travelers focus primarily on adult telemetry care with access to modern monitoring equipment and comprehensive patient care resources.
