Full description
We have an exciting locum tenens opportunity available for a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist. The assignment is located near Roundup, Montana, and offers a unique chance to practice in both an outpatient and inpatient setting. This position is ideal for a physician who is looking to provide comprehensive gastroenterology care in a rural setting. Position Details: Start Date: November 18, 2024 End Date: Ongoing assignment with additional shifts available in 2025 Practice Setting: Inpatient and outpatient coverage required Shift Coverage: November 18th ??? 25th (7-day stretch) December 2nd ??? 9th (7-day stretch) Provider is expected to be on call 24/7 for the duration of these shifts Call Details: 20-minute call response time required Rounding: Expected to round on patients during shifts EMR System: Cerner, with preferred knowledge of ProVation Support: Advanced practice provider (APP) support available in the clinic Patient Load: 3-15 patients per shift (variable) Procedures Required: Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy Foreign body removal Fulguration of bleeder (cautery or laser) Injection of varices ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic) Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision Liver biopsy Esophageal manometry interpretation Small bowel biopsy Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) Requirements: License: Must be licensed in Montana or eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; PALS preferred if providing pediatric care Fellowship: Gastroenterology fellowship required Hospital Privileges: Required, but temporary privileges are not available Trauma Level: Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center Additional Information: Lodging Recommendations: Local hotels available near the facility Orientation: 6-hour orientation on the first day of the assignment Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated at 90 days This is a fantastic opportunity to provide high-quality care in a beautiful, rural location with access to a major airport.
