Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring ARRT-CT certification and proficiency in trauma, biopsy drainage, and angiogram procedures.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a hospital setting with both inpatient and outpatient caseloads, primarily serving adult patients with occasional pediatric outpatients or ED cases
- Shifts are available in 8, 10, or 12-hour formats with a typical rotation including weekends about once per month
- Average caseload is 4 patients per hour, with a 1:1 patient ratio, totaling approximately 40 patients per day
- CT technologists work as part of a team with another CT tech and an assistant on each shift
- Procedures include biopsy drainage, trauma scans, angiograms, and stroke perfusion studies
- All GE CT scanners used; EMR documentation is performed in Cerner
- Floating may occur throughout various areas of the main Radiology department
- Holiday coverage is scheduled per hospital policy, including at least one major and one minor seasonal holiday; on-call is voluntary
- CT technologists are responsible for performing high acuity trauma and complex radiology procedures as part of a collaborative team
- Opportunities for orientation include one 8-hour hospital session and 2-3 shifts on days with preceptorship support
- Scrubs of any color are permitted
- Free parking is available on site
- Travelers must purchase their own markers
- Return to this facility as a traveler is allowed only after a 6 month break from permanent employment
- No local candidates are accepted; applicants must live more than 60 miles from the facility
- Requests for more than 7 days off require manager approval and may require contract extension
Requirements
- Current BLS certification is required
- ARRT registration and ARRT-CT certification are required
- At least 1 year of recent relevant CT experience for experienced travelers, or at least 2 years for first-time travelers
- Strong skills required in CT biopsy drainage, trauma, angiogram procedures; stroke perfusion experience strongly preferred
- State license preferred; license required if applicable
