PCU RN Job Details – North Carolina Healthcare Jobs- Location: Shelby, NC 28150 (Cleveland County)
- Facility: 32-bed Progressive Care Unit, Level 3 Trauma Center
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (8/25/2025 – 11/22/2025)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours/week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1570–$1680
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays during contract
- Scrub Color: Navy

- Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
- Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency in tracheostomies, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care, and central line management
- Ability to float within the region and scope of practice
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Provide high-quality patient care for individuals with CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory conditions, diabetes, kidney injury, and substance withdrawal
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; administer cardiac drips
- Perform wound care, manage chest tubes, central lines, and blood product administration
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
- Document patient care using EPIC EMR; utilize Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
- Float to other nursing units within the region as needed
- Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing clinical training
