The Lead Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) supervises shift activities and acts as the clinical expert during their assigned shift, ensuring efficient staffing and resource support. They provide direct patient care, support preceptor tasks, and foster a collaborative team environment focused on patient safety and quality care. Required qualifications include an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy, RRT licensure, clinical experience, and relevant certifications such as BCLS, ACLS, and NRP.
Overview: Supports the supervision of shift activities, and acts as the expert during his or her assigned shift. Duties include daily support of staffing and assignments, providing resource support, supporting preceptor tasks, and fulfilling assigned patient care workload. Serves as a role model and advocates a highly efficient, accountable and collaborative team environment between staff and with physicians. - Associate’s Degree Requires an Associate’s in Respiratory Therapy Sciences Required
- 2 years of clinical experience in respiratory care. Current BCLS, ACLS and NRP certifications . Proficient in all patient care settings (i.e., adult ICU, NICU). If limited NICU experience, able to ramp up basic skill set (i.e., delivery support, blood gases, equipment setup) within a defined timeframe Required
- Is a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); has and maintains a current licensure as a Respiratory Care Professional in the state of Georgia Required
