Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work four 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday with rotating start times as needed
• No weekends, holidays, or call requirements
• Rotate primarily between PACU and pre/post interventional radiology area within PACU unit
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, with Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Critical care experience required for high acuity PACU patients
• Must be comfortable with artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP), transfusions, and vasoactive drugs
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN and TNCC preferred
• Must pass Relias EKG exam
• Experience required with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
• Must be comfortable working with adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations
• Will float within scope to PACU or PreOp units as needed
• Night shift staff must learn preoperative patient workup procedures
• Navy blue scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
• Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility

Facility:

This major healthcare facility operates as a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center with 1,273 staffed beds. The PACU operates 24/7 with 38 patient bays and maintains a daily census of 70-90 patients. The facility provides comprehensive surgical services including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant services. The unit features its own PCT/transport team and offers interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams. Approximately 80% of PACU patients are admitted to the hospital following their procedures.
