Position Title: Sales Tax Specialist
Wage: Based on Experience
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sales Tax Specialist to manage all aspects of sales tax compliance and reporting for our Franklin, WI client. This 3-4 month contract role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with state and local tax regulations. This is a fully onsite role with full-time hours in Franklin, WI.
Sales Tax Specialist Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly sales tax compliance process across multiple jurisdictions
- Compile and analyze transactional tax data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and file sales tax returns in a timely manner
- Maintain and reconcile sales tax accounts, ensuring proper documentation and reporting
- Evaluate taxability of transactions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Manage and update exemption certificates to support accurate tax reporting
- Assist with special projects and other tax-related tasks as assigned
Requirements for Sales Tax Specialist:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Experience in sales and use tax compliance or accounting required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with tax software or ERP systems a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
