We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join a high-acuity Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU) team.

Schedule & Coverage

• Variable 12-hour shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays)

• Must be available to cover 50% nights and/or weekends

• Minimum of 4 shifts per month

• Optional night and weekend call (not guaranteed)
  

Unit & Patient Details

• 18-bed PCICU

• Approximately 350 surgical cases per year

• Average daily census: patients

• Patient population includes:

  • Predominantly pediatric and neonatal patients (8 neonatal beds)

  • 8% adult congenital patients

  • High-acuity cardiac patients including:

    • Heart failure

    • Ventilator-dependent patients

    • Pre- and post-operative cardiac surgery

    • Cardiac catheterization patients

    • ECMO and CRRT

    • Pre- and post-transplant patients

Requirements

• Board Certification: CPNP-AC (NP candidates)

• Licensure:

  • NP: Active California license required

  • PA: May submit without CA license

• DEA: Required (CA, Schedule II)

• Certifications: BLS, PALS

• Minimum Experience:

  • 1+ year of PCICU experience

  • Must be true PCICU experience (no step-down or non-surgical ICU)

• Heart failure experience preferred but not required
