The Construction Site Supervisor oversees on-site tenant improvement projects, ensuring scheduling efficiency, quality control, and safety compliance. They coordinate subcontractors, manage project documentation, and liaise with inspectors to maintain budget and project timelines. The role requires strong knowledge of construction drawings, risk mitigation, and daily operational oversight.
A reputable general contractor immediately seeking a Construction Site Supervisor in the Los Angeles market with 5 years minimum retail, restaurant and / or office tenant improvement experience. The right candidate will have on-site project experience with a keen understanding of subcontractor relationships, scheduling, safety/risk mitigation and quality control.
Responsibilities include:
- Aptitude for reading full project drawings; This position requires daily review of all drawings and details for a thorough understanding of all aspects of any given project
- Must understand the time-sensitive nature of all construction projects and proactively push schedules and stack trade work, for maximum efficiency.
- Hold weekly meetings to review schedule, track progress, and address issues before they become problems.
- Review all installation guides and operations manuals to ensure materials and equipment are installed properly, and warranties are protected.
- Ability to respect project budget, and limit purchases.
- Knowledge of and interaction with inspectors, inspections, permitting, testing and observations.
- Streamline subcontractor work, without sacrificing quality; Develop plan of action to make up for any incurred delays.
- Responsible for uploading of RFI’s, daily reports, and daily photos.
- Enforce safety program; Conducts mandatory weekly safety meetings; Issues PPE to guests and visitors; promptly document and report all on-site incidents and accidents.
- Document Control – Maintain all necessary construction drawings and other construction contract documents.
- Keep Subs accountable for their materials and equipment; Cleans site; Clears potential hazards (must be willing to pick up trash and use a broom).
- Document all materials and equipment; Accepts and inspects all deliveries; Maintains project inventory.
