RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on 36-bed medical surgical unit (12 Tower)
• Patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
• 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week block
• Will float over core staff as needed
• Work with PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Dress code: Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue scrubs
• Perform basic patient assessments and general care
• Manage wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, stroke and seizure patients
• Handle patients requiring dialysis or PCA pumps
• Administer Heparin drips
• Care for post-op patients including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries and wound vacs
• Conduct bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1-2 hours
• Follow HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring
• Implement fall prevention measures
• Complete 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
• Treated as core staff with same accountability and recognition
