Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse - Overflow Unit

Job DescriptionThis position is for a 14-bed overflow med/surg tele unit designed to accommodate ED boarder patients. The location functions as a flexible space within the GI Endoscopy area, allowing patient numbers to adjust based on demand.
Responsibilities- Manage medication administration and patient care in a med/surg tele environment.
- Participate in the management of dysrhythmias and utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as needed.
- Provide education and support for patients and families regarding care delivery.
- Document patient information accurately using the EPIC charting system.
- Float to other units as required based on patient needs.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a med/surg tele environment.
- Current New York RN license is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Competency in placing IVs and managing peripheral lines.
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Ability to administer oxygen and manage non-invasive airway procedures.
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and infection control practices.
