American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active IL license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications for a night shift position requiring mandatory floating and trauma center experience.
Responsibilities- Position based in the ICU of a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week, 7:00pm - 7:30am
- No block scheduling or special shift requests permitted
- Every other weekend shift required (2 weekends per month)
- Mandatory floating within all ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
- Potential to float to MS units to meet staffing needs
- May be required to float to facilities within a 50-mile radius with up to 2 hours' notice
- Initial orientation and preceptorship during day shift
- Cerner used for charting; prior Cerner experience preferred but not required
- RNs are expected to provide care to critically ill patients across diverse ICU specialties
- Strict RTO policy: maximum 5 days off total, no more than 2 consecutive, no time off on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday
- No RTO permitted during or adjacent to holidays; infractions may result in contract cancellation
- Navy blue scrubs required and not provided
- Compliance requirements must be completed before orientation, including lab work within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Team-based model may be implemented when floated outside primary competency
- First week includes orientation and preceptoring on days
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Proof of COVID vaccination (booster not required)
- Must reside within 75 miles to be considered local
- Pending licenses not accepted
