Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Patient ratios: 1:3 during days, 1:4 during nights, 1:3 on weekends
• Must be able to handle 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg when floating
• Float to ICU or medical-surgical units as needed
• Must have NY license in hand - no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Must have EPIC charting experience - hard requirement
• Must live beyond 75 mile radius from facility
• Travel experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• One pre-approved time off period allowed
• Complete pre-start modules (up to 10 hours total)
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Care for adult and geriatric patients requiring specialized monitoring
• Provide continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Manage patients with airway needs, BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and IV infusions
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Handle IV therapy, phlebotomy, and respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Respond to rapid response and code team situations
• Maintain isolation precautions and infection control protocols

This 528-bed tertiary care hospital features a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit that serves as a critical care step-down unit. The facility provides evidence-based care to patients requiring more specialized attention than general medical-surgical units can offer. The unit receives patients from multiple areas including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors, with a focus on pulmonary patients. The hospital maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
