The Emergency Medicine Physician will provide acute care in a Level 3 Trauma Center emergency department, managing approximately 110 patients daily with support from nursing staff and advanced practice providers. Responsibilities include performing various emergency procedures, supervising APPs and residents, and managing a broad range of medical emergencies including pediatric, psychiatric, and trauma cases. The position requires board certification, an active Michigan license, and offers competitive hourly compensation in a well-supported hospital environment in Lansing, MI.

This facility is part of a respected healthcare network in the Greater Lansing area with a Level 3 Trauma Center. The emergency department manages an annual volume of 40,000 patients with full nursing support, 12 hours of APP coverage daily, and utilizes Cerner EHR system.

Physician - Emergency Medicine
Job Details:
• Multiple shift options available from January through February 2026• Approximately 110 patients per day in the ED with 22% hospital admission rate• ED features 42 beds with a fast track area staffed by APPs (handling 15% of volume)• Supervision of APPs and residents required• No ED staff response to house codes• Hospitalist writes admission orders• Must be able to perform various procedures including:• Adult and pediatric outpatient care• Newborn resuscitation• Management of non-displaced fractures• Suturing of minor lacerations• Incision and drainage procedures• Management of psychiatric patients (adult, child/adolescent, geriatric)• Airway management and ventilation for up to 24 hours• Central line and arterial line placement• EKG interpretation• Arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, paracentesis• Various emergency medicine procedures• Must be board certified by ABEM or AOBEM (no exceptions)• Active Michigan medical license required (no IMLC accepted)• BLS certification required• Local providers only, no exceptions• Clean background for expedited credentialing• Provider must clock in/out using DocTime system
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
