Our client, an educational organization dedicated to empowering young adults through comprehensive learning programs, is seeking a GED Instructor to join their team. As a GED Instructor, you will be part of the educational support team supporting students in achieving their high school equivalency credentials. The ideal candidate will demonstrate dedication, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to student success, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: GED Instructor
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Pay Range: $28 - $30 per hour
Shift: 7:30AM - 4:30PM, Monday through Friday
Duration: at least 3 months
What's the Job?
- Design and develop curriculum materials, lesson plans, and learning activities aligned with educational standards to teach high school-level subjects such as math, English, science, and social studies.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that accommodate various learning styles and abilities, fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Create and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding, track progress, and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Identify students' strengths and areas for growth, offering personalized instruction and support to help them succeed academically.
- Maintain a structured classroom environment, ensuring safety, discipline, and adherence to program policies while managing classroom dynamics effectively.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Teaching, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- New York State Teaching Certification in the appropriate subject area(s) for high school instruction.
- Proven experience in teaching high school subjects, preferably in alternative or adult education settings.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate diverse groups of learners.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to student engagement.
