PCU RN Job Details- Location: Shelby, North Carolina 28150
- Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 32 beds
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/8/2025 – End: 12/6/2025)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours/week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Expectations: Work 75% of holidays
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Parking: Free on-site parking
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1680
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
- Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Expertise in cardiac rhythm interpretation, cardiac gtt, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, blood product administration, wound care/dressing changes, and central line management
- Experience with EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
- Ability to float within Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and Central Division facilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients with CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, and more
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 (occasionally 1:5 based on acuity)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
- Monitor telemetry at bedside and nurses station
- Float to regional healthcare facilities as needed
- Attend facility and unit orientation (NEO and 2 days departmental)
- Comply with scheduling cycles and approved time off policies
