• Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $1260 - $1350 per week

Med/Surg RN Job Details – Decatur, TX

• Location: Decatur, Texas 76234 (North Texas healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Main Campus, 4th & 5th Floor Med/Surg Units
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Weekend Shifts: Required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Texas or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Strong time management and teamwork skills
• Ability to float to Inpatient Rehab, Emergency Department (ED), and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as needed

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to Med/Surg patients on designated units
• Monitor patients using remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, and dynamaps
• Document assessments and care in Alterra (Allscripts) EMR system
• Assist with procedures including abdominal surgeries (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy), diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, heart catheterizations, run offs, gastric sleeves, joint replacements, and orthopedic trauma repairs
• Initiate IVs and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team: RNs, LVNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and charge nurses
• Maintain a positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
• Comply with unit policies, dress code (Medical City Blue scrubs), and attendance requirements
