American Traveler is seeking a Neuro ICU RN with recent trauma ICU experience and a NH or compact RN license for a critical care position with float requirements.
Responsibilities- Position is in the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU), a 10-bed ICU specializing in neurological critical care
- Patient population includes stroke (ischemic and hemorrhagic), neurosurgery, neuro-medical, and neuro-muscular disorders
- Performs procedures such as thrombectomy, TPA administration, ventriculostomies, emergent evacuations, lumbar drains, bolts, and EVD
- Will float to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and other critical care units as needed
- NCCU is the only dedicated Neuro Critical Care Unit in Northern New England
- SICU includes surgical, trauma, neuro, plastics, multiple organ failure, and sepsis patients
- Schedule involves 36 hours per week
- Responsible for the care of critically ill neuro and surgical patients including monitoring, medication administration, and supporting invasive procedures
- Team-oriented environment with floating expected between NCCU, SICU, and other critical care units
- Applicants must ensure their RN license and all certifications remain active for the entire assignment period
- Compliance with all immunization and health system requirements is mandatory
- Scrub or dress code details are not specified
- Active NH or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma ICU experience within the last 2 years required
- Strong experience with advanced hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, ventilated patients, and management of pressors, inotropes, and vasoactive medications
- Experience assisting with insertion and maintenance of lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients
- Proficiency in PA line usage and waveform interpretation
- Must live at least 75 miles away; local candidates are not accepted
