This job is for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Interventional Radiologist to provide part-time coverage at a Level I trauma center in Oakland, CA. The role involves performing 5-6 interventional procedures daily such as biopsies, drainages, and emergency hemorrhage control with RN and technician support. The position offers flexible scheduling with competitive daily and callback pay rates on an ongoing PRN basis.
Aya Locums is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Interventional Radiologist to provide coverage at Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA. This is a high-acuity trauma center assignment offering excellent case variety and strong support staff.
Assignment Details:
Location: Highland Hospital Oakland, CA
Start Date: December 1, 2025
Schedule: 3 days/week, 8a 5p with 24-hour call to 8a next morning (PRN scheduling as needed)
Duration: Ongoing PRN coverage
Pay Range: $4,000 $4,300/day Holiday daily rate higher $700/hour callback approximately
Clinical Scope:
Average 5 6 procedures/day
Call back: 1x per weeknight, 2x per weekend
Procedures: biopsies, drainages, tunneled access, trauma hemorrhage control, GI/Gyn/Urology emergencies
EMR: Epic
Support staff: RNs + techs during the day; IR typically sole provider on site
Requirements:
Board Certified/Eligible in Interventional Radiology
Active California medical license (required)
ACLS, BLS, DEA, and CA CSR
Minimum 3 years post-training IR experience
Must be comfortable in a Level I trauma center environment
Credentialing:
days (no emergency privs)
