Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts as a Per Diem RN
• Two years acute hospital experience as an RN required
• One year ED hospital experience as an RN required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (Must be AHA or RQI)
• NYS RN Licensure required
• Apply knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care
• Assess patient needs and identify urgent or emergent care priority
• Provide direct care, apply appropriate interventions, and evaluate patient progress
• Utilize various invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions
• Manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations
• Connect with patients and families during triage and assign priority of care according to ESI training
• Conduct primary and secondary assessments of patients of all age groups
• Document major deviations from norm within acceptable time frames
• Assess physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and families
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions
• Maintain patient communication boards throughout ED stay
