ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide inpatient and postoperative care coverage. This role supports an open position while a new hire is being trained and involves autonomous practice with physician support readily available. The provider will manage adult and geriatric patients in inpatient, post-op, and ICU settings.
Dates / Schedule
Coverage Period: January April (ongoing coverage thereafter TBD)
Commitment: Approximately 10 days per month, covering two weekends
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.
Call: 10 days of call per month
Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated days (may be expedited with a clean file)
Job Details & Responsibilities
- Practice setting includes office hours, inpatient post-operative floors, and ICU care
Average patient volume of approximately 12 patients per day
Provide autonomous care with supervising physician rounding daily and available 24/7 by phone
Level 1 trauma center environment
Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation
Key duties include:
Suture removal
Diagnosing and treating illnesses
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
Writing prescriptions
Pre-operative physical exams
Daily rounding and coordination of care
Required Skills & Qualifications
Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) (required)
Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license (required)
BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
Relevant training and clinical experience (required)
Ability to practice autonomously in an inpatient/ICU setting
Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
100% clean background check with no exceptions (required)
