A Pediatric Hospitalist Physician providing inpatient care for pediatric patients up to 18 years old in a hospital setting in Coastal Alaska. Responsibilities include managing high-risk births, admitting children to medical-surgical units, stabilizing patients for transport, and performing procedures such as intubations and blood draws. The role requires board certification in Pediatrics, Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification, and relevant state licensure.

Location: Coastal Alaska
Duration: January/February 2024 - Ongoing
Schedule: 1 week/month of call
Call: 7a Mon 7a Mon
Patient volume: between 2-5 census daily
Scope: attend high risk births (c-sections, or high risk), admit peds on med surg as well, up to 18 yrs old. Common reasons for admission: Mental health, RSV. No NICU level of care, stabilize until transport team arrives and ship to Anchorage. Procedures: possibly draw blood off umbilical artery, intubations, etc
EMR: EPIC
Group/support: 2 other pediatricians
Requirements (boards, license): MUST HAVE NRP CERT. Must be BC in PEDS. Must have or be willing to obtain an AK License
