Job Details:
• Work in Med-Surg Cardiac Medical Unit with 23 beds plus 1 treatment room
• Day shift patient ratios: 1:4, Night shift ratios: 1:5
• Every other weekend requirement
• Float within similar units as needed
• Required to wear hospital-provided scrubs
• Must have ACLS certification
• Must have cardiac telemetry knowledge and experience
• Must have knowledge/skill set for cardiac medical and procedural patients including cardiac catheterizations
• Must be proficient with cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Diltiazem, renal dose Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Lasix, and insulin drips
• Work with telemetry monitoring equipment, some rooms hard-wired
• Use equipment including vein finder for IV therapy, portable and continuous pulse oximetry, manual/automatic vital sign machines, blood glucose monitors, mechanical lifts, and Dopplers
• Utilize Allscripts EMR system with medication scanning capabilities
• Care for hemodynamically stable MI patients, acute/chronic heart failure, new onset Afib, stable dysrhythmias
• Handle procedural patients including cardiac catheterizations, ablations, cardioversions, ICD, pacers, and pericardial drains
• Manage ICU transfers, neuro patients (CVA), and pulmonary patients requiring BiPAP, high-flow, and Salter
• Must be engaging, team-oriented, flexible/adaptable, and patient-centered
