American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Michigan requiring a current MI RN license and substantial ER experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a 9-bed Emergency Department with 2 negative pressure rooms and 2 trauma bays
- Patient population includes geriatric, trauma, stroke, cardio-respiratory, diabetic ketoacidosis, COVID, pediatric, and general medical cases
- 12-hour night shifts are required
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation is expected
- Floating to ICU (2-bed unit) and Med Surg (25-bed unit with 4-5 COVID rooms) may be required
- Charge RN shifts are part of the role
- Staffing includes 2 RNs on day shift until 11 pm, 1 RN on nights with charge nurse assist
- RN will perform emergency assessments and general nursing duties across a diverse range of emergency and medical cases
- Any colored scrubs may be worn per policy
- Travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times during flu season per mandatory policy
- Assignment must comply with a 50-mile radius rule from the facility
- Position may experience low census with potential call
- First-time travelers are not specified as accepted or restricted
- Active MI RN license required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC required
- Minimum of 3 years of ER nursing experience required; 5 years strongly preferred
- Willingness to float to ICU and Med Surg as needed
