This position is for a Board Certification Eligible General Surgeon at a well-established hospital in Decatur, GA, providing comprehensive surgical services including general, pediatric, trauma, and specialized surgeries. The role requires proficiency in various procedures such as laparoscopic, head/neck, chest, breast, OB/GYN, liver, vascular, and plastic surgeries, along with critical care skills like ventilation management and central line insertion. Opportunity:
Board Certification Eligible - Surgery - General
Job Details:
• One week on, one week off schedule (Monday through Sunday, 7am to 7pm)
• Average of 10 patient encounters per shift
• Must be proficient in a wide range of general surgery procedures for adults, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Experience with trauma cases preferred
• Laparoscopic surgery skills required including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, and Nissen fundoplication
• Head/neck surgery (including thyroid) procedures preferred
• Chest wall/pleural procedures preferred
• Breast surgery experience preferred
• OB/GYN surgical skills including cesarean section, D&C, and hysterectomy preferred
• Liver surgery capabilities preferred
• GI endoscopy experience (both upper and lower including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy)
• Ventilation management, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and PA catheter placement
• Vascular surgery experience preferred including aneurysm repairs, arterial bypass, and AV shunt
• Plastic surgery experience preferred
• Pediatric surgery experience preferred for cases including artesias, abdominal wall defects, and diaphragmatic hernia
• Must possess ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Must have active Georgia medical license
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 21 days
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
