ICU Nurse Job Details- Location: Madison, WI 53792 (Wisconsin nursing jobs)
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 6, 2026
- Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 07:00–19:30 / Night: 19:00–07:30), every other weekend, some holidays required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2200–$2260
- Unit: Cardiothoracic Surgery & Transplant ICU (27 beds, average daily census 26)
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Orientation: Approximately 24 hours (about 1 week)
- Local Rule: Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility (locals not accepted)
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state nursing license (required for travel nurse jobs in Wisconsin)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU RN experience within the last 3 years (CVICU experience required)
- Experience with NextStage CVVH machine
- Epic EMR experience (preferred within last 12 months)
- Basic arrhythmia interpretation and telemetry skills (must pass Telemetry test prior to start)
- BLS & ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- Previous travel nurse experience
- Trauma Level I ICU experience
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplants, and advanced cardiac procedures
- Operate and manage advanced critical care equipment: CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO
- Interpret and manage cardiac rhythms, including telemetry and arrhythmia management
- Administer blood products, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and manage ventilated patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response
- Float to other critical care units as needed
- Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
- Document patient care using Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
- Participate in planned and emergent procedures, supporting a dynamic ICU environment
