Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a day shift long-term care position in a skilled nursing facility, requiring a WI or compact license and elderly care experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility attached to a hospital
- The unit serves 70 residents, primarily elderly and those with dementia or rehabilitation needs
- Patient ratios are 1:20 for RNs, 1:20 for LPNs, and 1:8 for CNAs
- Schedule consists of 8-hour day shifts with every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- EMR systems used are ECS and eClinicalWorks
- Block scheduling with 4 nurses and 7 aides during day/pm shifts
- Floating to other units may be required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Responsibilities include charting, assessments, medication administration, and charge duties
- Work with an interdisciplinary team including therapy, administration, social workers, and dietary
- Solid color scrubs required, clean and professional appearance
- Must be available for at least half of the holidays during the assignment
- Unit/department-specific orientation provided based on skillset
- Returning permanent staff must have a 6-month gap before consideration
- Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted with a different pay structure
- All staff must clock in and out at the facility
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience in elderly or long-term care settings
- Ability to perform clinical skills such as IVs, catheterization, and ostomy care
- Submission of two professional references (one from a supervisor and one from a supervisor or peer)
