Hospital Employed Gastroenterology Opportunity with the Great Lakes Bay area's largest regional hospital, a 643-bed tertiary medical center. In this position you will be supporting mainly two rural community hospitals nearby, in the underserved "thumb area," delivering vital GI care to patients in these communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions, including esophageal, liver, pancreatic, and colon diseases.
- Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies, upper GI endoscopies (EGD), and other relevant diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to coordinate patient care across two systems/multiple sites
- Provide consultation services and ongoing care for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of digestive care protocols and best practices within the rural health system.
- Support the strategic goals of the collaborative agreement between the two systems, aimed at improving access to specialty care in rural areas.
- Provide on-call coverage as required.
